INSPIRATIONAL SONGS IN HIP-HOP PT 1

As it’s Sunday morning and I should probably be in church somewhere instead of laying around feeding my addiction to any and everything that you can find on the internet let me offer something just a little constructive for the heads out there. This was written in response to the one and only Recshop’s top ten Jigga man quotes so for forgive me for being a biting ass mc. again.

INSPIRATIONAL SONGS IN HIP-HOP PT 1

(IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER)

OUTKAST FEAT. CEE-LO-IN DUE TIME

I was going with “Git Up Git Out” but due to the video being a half assed version of the song I had to go with this instead. It’s a close call between the two but due yourself a favor and check out both of them if you haven’t heard. But seriously if you haven’t heard this by now then stop what you’re doing and go out and buy the first three Kast albums. at the least.

 NOTORIOUS B.I.G.- SKYS THE LIMIT

When I was compiling this list I asked a friend of mine for Biggie songs that were inspiring.  This was his first answer but he followed up with Ten Crack Commandments. While the latter is inspiring in a get up get out sort of way I think Ill go with the former. This is one of those bittersweet moments in Hip-Hop, because the video is such a great tribute, but at the same time it reminds you that Biggie is gone forever.

 PUBLIC ENEMY- FIGHT THE POWER

Radio Raheem was ready to die over this song. and his boombox. He literally couldn’t live without his radio. nuff said.
