INSPIRATIONAL SONGS IN HIP-HOP PT 2

Well as usual Recshop out does me at my own game….all I did was add the links big shouts to Ms. Recshop PleaseDontStare’s very own freelance writer. emphasis on free…..

May sound cliche but- Keep Your Head Up-Tupac. When times were hard growing up it was my go to song.

Get By- Talib Kweli. “This morning, I woke up, feeling brand new and I jumped up, feeling my highs, and my lows, in my soul, and my goals”…Love the lyrics, love the beat…you can’t get better than that.

Walk Like a Warrior-Dead Prez. Every black peson should walk like a warrior…nuff said. Actually anything by Dead Prez. (How about Hip-Hop)- Editor

One Mic/Black Zombies/Nigger-Nas. It’s nasty Nas folks…you gotta love him…he always speaks the truth. ok…And I’m adding these ones to the list…cuz ever now and then a sister needs to know that her man has got her back. So I find these two inspirational on a men are Mars, women are from Venus kind of tip:

All I Need- Method Man feat Mary J Blige- What this song is the lick! Not into the fancy, materialistic shit. Just straight up to the point. Tell me that you respect that I’m there and it’s all good. He’s no R.Kelly but I find it real sexy when he says “I’m realizing that you didn’t have to fuck wit me. But you did, now I’m going all out kid and I got mad love to give, you my nigga.”

You Got Me- The Roots. -Could have added in a few more songs from these guys. But I just like how the relationship plays out on vinyl…kinda like on some Brown Sugar tip: “now she in my world like hip-hop”
